The trend of upgrading storage from traditional hard drives to SSDs has become increasingly popular, with M.2 SSDs now often replacing mechanical drives. These drives can also be used externally, delivering faster speeds when paired with a compatible enclosure. To support this demand, ASUS has introduced the TUF Gaming A2 SSD case.
The new TUF Gaming A2 enclosure is designed for M.2 SSDs and offers USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 connectivity, achieving speeds of up to 20Gbps—double that of the previous A1 model. This model is IP68-rated for water and dust resistance, making it suitable for travel and harsh conditions. Thanks to Q-Latch technology, installation is simple and tool-free, and its MIL-STD-810H military-grade build can withstand drops up to 1.22 meters, with added protection against UV rays and static or electrical disturbances.
Lastly, the highly-conductive internal thermal pad has a K-value of 3, allowing it to effectively dissipate the heat generated by the SSD to prevent overheating and ensure long-term stability.
The TUF Gaming A2 SSD enclosure is compatible with PCs, Macs, consoles, and even the ROG Ally. ASUS has yet to announce the official price for this model, but we’ll be sure to keep you updated as more information becomes available.
