ASUS Unveils RoG Poseidon GTX 1080 Ti Hybrid Cooling Graphics Card

ASUS has unveiled their most ambitious design for the GeForce GTX 1080 Ti graphics card yet, applying their next-generation DirectCU H20 cooling system to create the RoG Poseidon GTX 1080 Ti Hybrid Cooling graphics card. As the name suggests, this flagship video card will have both liquid-cooling and air cooling capabilities out of the box. The next generation DirectCU H20 has a base plate covering the entire GPU area and directly above that are integrated water-channels so that the coolant can flow through when used in Liquid Cooling mode. It accepts standard G1/4 fittings so it can be integrated into most existing liquid cooling setups easily.

This new updated DirectCU design increases the water-channel flow rate by as much as 20% while the 40% increase in the heat dissipation area improves the rate in which heat comes off the GPU. When not in liquid-cooling mode, the RoG Poseidon ASUS GeForce GTX 1080 Ti cooling system has 8mm heatpipes which take the heat away from the GPU core into an aluminum radiator system for the dual fans to blow heat out of in air-cooling mode. The fans are also IP5x certified so it is dust resistant.

As expected from high-end graphics cards these days, the RoG Poseidon GTX 1080 Ti also has RGB LED capabilities via ASUS Aura Sync. The integrated backplate has an illuminated ASUS RoG logo while the front right side edge has an infinity panel RGB LED design. Both are controllable via ASUS Aura Sync software and can be synchronized with ASUS Aura Sync compatible motherboards.

Like all ASUS Republic of Gamers product, the ASUS oseidon GTX 1080 Ti is also designed for those who wish to push its performance much further than stock, upgrading the reference GTX 1080 Ti’s 7-phase GPU power design to a 10-phase VRM for better overclocking performance. It will be available beginning April 2017.
