Recently we broke the news to you that AMD had updated their Brazos APU from the E-350 to the E-450. Now ASUS has passed this change onto the fusion motherboards which come pre-assembled with the APU unit and a passive heatsink. The new E45M1-M Pro is the only ASUS motherboard to be equipped with an E-450 APU unit so far.
As far as connectivity goes you get a standard amount for a budget mATX motherboard. A single PCI-E 16X lane for an expansion card, two full sized DIMM slots supporting up to 8GB of 1600MHz DDR3 memory. There is also a PCI-E 1X slot and a couple of legacy PCI slots. It has five SATA III 6G ports which is great for getting the most out of your storage devices and there is also an eSATA port available. 8 channel RealTek audio is supplied and you get up to 14 USB ports (2 USB 3.0 and 12 USB 2.0).
It also comes with Asus’ EPU, Protect 3, Turbo Key and UEFI BIOS features. The motherboard features DVI, HDMI and D-Sub/VGA outputs for the onboard APU graphics. Pricing will be released soon but is not currently available, expect it to be a little over the price of the same board equipped with the E-350.
