ASUS has confirmed that it will be launching its next generation Padfone, the Padfone Infinity A86, at a press event in Taipei on September 17th. ASUS has yet to unveil any official details as it wants to save these for the press conference event in Taipei but specifications already leaked last month, collected by Softpedia, which suggest a pretty strong line-up of specifications. Firstly, the display is said to be a 5 inch capacitive touch screen with a 1920 x 1080 resolution. Next we expect the internals to be based around the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 SoC/Chipset meaning a strong CPU and GPU part. 2GB of RAM and 64GB of internal memory make up the rest of the key specifications.
Other highlighted specifications include a microSD card slot that allows you to add an extra 64GB of storage and a 13MP rear firing camera with autofocus, LED flash and full HD video recording capabilities. Expect more details to come in about a week after ASUS has completed the press event for the product’s launch.
