Evidently, it’s been a while since we’ve reviewed lots of X99 motherboards so driver updates from AMD will allow for a huge boost in 3D performance. During the last review, we decided to use the original drivers in the interest of fairness. However, with new motherboards coming at a rapid pace, it seems in our audience’s best interest to use the latest drivers. As a result, the motherboard posts fantastic 3DMark scores and continues to impress.
Tomb Raider
On a similar note, the latest drivers really help to leverage an enhanced frame-rate and showcases the improvements AMD have made in recent months.
Bioshock Infinite
Saying that, the motherboard didn’t quite reach the top spot during the Bioshock Infinite benchmarking tool which suggests the current drivers lack any optimizations for this particular title. Although, it’s still a great result and exemplifies the motherboard’s gaming capabilities.
