The ASUS XG-C100C 10 Gigabit network adapter is finally available for purchase. This networking solution was previously reviewed here at eTeknix last month, earning our “Extreme Performance Award”. As the name suggests, this network adapter provides 10 Gigabit ethernet connectivity, which is 10x faster than common Gigabit Ethernet on mainstream solutions these days.
The ASUS XG-C100C uses an Aquantia Aqtion AQC107 controller through the PCIe interface and takes up four lanes of PCIe 3.0. A single RJ-45 connection is provided in the back. This port has dual color LEDs indicating speed as well.
The card measures 120 x 846 x 205mm and fits standard height PCIe expansion slots. There is even a half-height bracket available for those with slimmer enclosure setups. Although compatible with 10 Gigabit standards, it is also compatible with 5GbE or even 2.5GbE standards so users can upgrade incrementally as their budget permits.
Aside from the card and the bracket replacement itself, there are also documentation and driver discs provided. This includes the quick setup guide, a user manual, and product registration guide.
It is available now from major retailers like Amazon.com or NewEgg.com for $99 USD. It should also be available in the UK for £99.
