ASUS’s Cheaper Ryzen Z1 Non-Extreme Powered ROG Ally Is Now Available At $599

The ASUS ROG Ally launched earlier this year with the Ryzen Z1 Extreme 8C-16T processor offering the most powerful handheld gaming experience to date. Alongside this ASUS had shared a Non-Extreme variant of the Z1 chip which today has finally been released.

ASUS ROG Ally Ryzen Z1 Non-Extreme

The Non-Extreme variant of the Ryzen Z1 handheld gaming chip is a cut-down variant which features 6 cores and 12 threads. This chip has been placed into the ASUS ROG Ally allowing for a $100 price reduction down to $599 making it a more palatable option for those on a tighter budget or not needing the full performance of the Z1 Extreme. Aside from the chip, this cheaper variant does not cut down on any other parts including storage of which it retains the same 512GB despite information suggesting a 256GB or 1TB model coming in the future.
