ASUSTOR is teasing us with a view on some of the things they’re going to present at CES 2015 in Las Vegas in January, among it their new NAS models equipped with Intel Core i3-4330 3.5GHz dual-core, Celeron J1900 2.0GHz quad-core, and Celeron J1800 2.41GHz dual-core processors respectively. The ASUSTOR NAS are running an App based concept in the form of the ADM Operating System and they will be presenting a row of new apps alongside the NAS devices.
The intuitive ADM operating system and mobile apps allow users to easily create a personalized cloud storage and backup center as well as local HTPCs for the models with HDMI out. Some of the highlights of the ADM version 2.3 is the SMB 2.0 support as well as full integration abilities with Windows AD systems and ACL file permissions. Of course, anything else you’d expect from a NAS is supported as well.
ASUSTOR will also be releasing multiple Apps at CES including Mail Server, Virtual Machine, LooksGood, and Surveillance Center 2.2. Also, in regards to mobile Apps, ASUSTOR has enhanced privacy protection with a new passcode lock function and encrypted connections, ensuring that users’ privacy is protected even if they lose their mobile devices.
What will be the big hit however is the AiMaster that now brings NAS system initialization to mobile devices, truly creating a “PC-less” environment and providing easy management for cloud storage. This is something that has been missing so far, as current offerings usually require a PC to get started with the setup.
We’ve already previously reported on some of the devices, but you’ll find a short summary of the different series below.
The 70R Rackmount NAS Series come equipped with either Intel Core i3 3.5GHz dual-core processors or Xeon E3 3.4GHz quad-core processors.
