ASUSTOR has released the ADM 2.4 Beta version of their app based NAS operating system. The new version includes functions for an improved shared folder encryption mechanism for increases data encryption speeds and it releases storage space previously occupied by already deleted files. It also optimized performance for SSDs with TRIM support as well as adding the SNMP network management protocol, enhanced Network Defender, and the newly added multimedia previews in File Explorer.
The Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) provides a set of standards that allows managers on a single network management system (NMS) to collect information from all network equipment for convenient monitoring and maintenance. The ADM 2.4 beta supports SNMP v1, v2c, v3 and also provides a trap setting that can actively notify the NMS of significant events.
The Network Defender also got an upgrade and users can now configure a trusted list of trusted IP addresses in addition to manually configuring black and white lists using the IP country or area of origin via the Geo IP expansion module.
“With the continual release of ADM upgrades, ASUSTOR aims to provide its users with the most optimized operating system possible,” said Vincent Tseng, Product Manager at ASUSTOR. “We sincerely appreciate and thank all our users for their continued support.”
The ADM 2.4 Beta is suitable for use on all ASUSTOR NAS devices and can be downloaded at the Beta Program mini page.
