The new limited edition gold and red ATH-M50xRD headphones which debuted in Audio Engineering Society New York 2017 is finally available in the UK. The headphone is the same critically acclaimed model inside but now features a deep red with gold accent look. The closed-back ATH-M50 is a darling of many audio professionals as a studio monitor headphone. Known for its comfort and clarity, now it can be known for its style. It regularly comes in either black or white, but the new red and gold color combination demands attention.
Each ATH-M50xRD uses 45mm large-aperture drivers with rare earth magnets and copper-clad aluminium wire voice coils. It also has 90-degree swivelling earcups which is suitable for single-ear monitoring use. Users can even colapse it into a compact, space-saving form. Contributing further to its portability, are its detachable and interchangeable cables. Each pack includes 1.2 m – 3.0 m coiled cable, 3.0 m straight cable and 1.2 m straight cable.
The Audio-Technica ATH-M50xRD retails for £182.00 (inc. VAT) in retail stores across the UK. This is quite a bit of a premium over the regular black or white versions. The regular black ATH-M50x costs £125.00 with VAT, while the all-white ATH-M50xWH retailsf or £135.00 with VAT.
