ASUS has today announced its BR1402 series, the world’s first 2-in-1 ruggedized 14-inch notebooks aimed for education use cases and the needs of modern students and hybrid learning.
ASUS BR1402 Series 2-in-1 Notebooks
The BR1402 Series from ASUS are available in a standard clamshell design (BR1402C) and a convertible 360° flip design (BR1402F) that allows the notebook to be transformed into a tablet. Both designs are made to the US Military Grade standards for durability and are fitted with a rubber bumper to absorb impacts keeping these notebooks in good condition through the daily and dangerous life of a student. With 10 hours of battery, they are also capable of going through a full school day and beyond plus feature a front-facing camera, microphone, fast-charging garaged stylus, USB-C and WiFi 6 connectivity all powered by up to an Intel i3-N305 Processor.
14-Inch Display
All BR1402 models feature a vivid 14-inch display which benefits from a TÜV Rheinland certification for low blue-light emissions ensuring eye protection over long-term use. Additionally, the display on the BR1402F features a 360° flippable touchscreen which can be used in diverse scenarios from a traditional laptop, to a tablet or anywhere in between. This touchscreen pairs up well with the included MPP 2.0 garaged stylus with a 15-second charge time for 45 minutes of use. Behind the top cover, ASUS has equipped these laptops with an LED indicator which can indicate internet connectivity problems or power problems to give educators an idea of when a student is having problems.
Modular Easy To Service Design
For devices to last a long time, they need to be easy to service which ASUS has done with these notebooks. Users can easily access key components such as the keyboard, battery, thermal module and I/O card allowing for them to be easily replaced in minutes with simple tools. The RAM and two M.2 memory slots also provide ample upgrade room if users demand more headroom for Chrome tabs up to 16GB and more storage for their Word documents.
