Xbox Game Studios and Obsidian Entertainment’s upcoming RPG, Avowed, will include a third-person camera mode. This exciting addition was revealed by director Carrie Patel during the recent Xbox Games Showcase.
Patel explained that players can switch between first-person and third-person views at will. This flexibility allows players to choose their preferred perspective for the game’s action and exploration.
The latest deep dive into Avowed also showcased various improvements. Combat has been enhanced with better hit reactions for both player and enemy attacks. Players can mix and match abilities and respec their characters to try different builds. Additionally, there will be multiple ways to approach enemy encounters, with a wide range of gear to collect and upgrade.
Avowed will also feature skill trees, dialogue choices, companions, and other classic RPG elements. Patel emphasized that these features aim to provide a rich and engaging gameplay experience.
During the Xbox Podcast, Patel shared new gameplay footage, including regions like the Emerald Stair, combat scenes, quests, and the party camp where players can interact with companions and optimize their gear.
Avowed is set to release on Xbox Series X|S and PC in late 2024. Fans eagerly await more details as the release date approaches.
