AWD Abyss RGB Custom Gaming PC Review

A Closer Look

What immediately grabs your attention in this build is the highly impressive aesthetics of the Game Max Abyss chassis. With the infinity glass fitted to the front, your eyes will undoubtedly be drawn to the amazing effect it creates. With a scope of RGB effects as well, this is visually a very strong start.

You will also note that the side of the chassis has a panel where you can view the internals. This is, again, great as this system has loads of RGB.

The other side of the case just has a standard panel. This isn’t unusual as this is covers where all the cable management magic takes place.

Connections And Other Features!

At the front of the system, you will find the main inputs. The switches control the front and rear fan speeds (which is a nice touch). In addition, you are also provided with 4 USB ports, a microphone in/out port, the main power switch, the reset button and the LED HDD indicator.

Having 4 USB ports to the front is very nice and, additionally so, the way they have been staggered to allow for easy access. You are provided with 2 USB 2.0 ports and 2 USB 3.0 ports so you have plenty of options here!

The top of the system provides the main exhaust for the AIO liquid cooler. This can easily be accessed via removing the mesh cover which is operated by a simple push mechanism.

On the main I/O plate you will find 6 USB ports (2 of which are 3.0) and a USB-C port. In addition, you will also find an HDMI/DVI input (for the onboard graphics), an ethernet port, audio ports and, of course, a standard (or shall we say traditional) keyboard/mouse input.

Further down the back, you will find the main graphics inputs for the Nvidia 1060. These include 2 x HMDI and 2 X DisplayPort. It does also have a DVI connector as well. In addition, you will find the main switch for the power supply as well as a smaller toggle for the PSU RGB effects.

Internal

Removing the side panel is easily done via two thumb screws. From here, you will get a nice clear view of the internals and boy is this chassis spacious. With the motherboard only taking up roughly half of the upper area, this should allow for some nice airflow.

In the lower portion of the chassis, you have the 600w Game Max power supply which is contained within the dividing chamber. Both this and the chassis come with RGB lighting effects. In addition, you also can see the ASUS Nvidia GTX 1060 graphics card.

The upper area of the motherboard certainly has a lot going on. Not only do you have that impressive looking Game Max Icerberg AIO liquid cooler, but you have the RGB lighting to the radiator. In addition, you also have RGB lighting effects to the Corsair RAM chips and the rear exhaust fan. Despite all of this going on, the presentation is actually really good and cable management is beyond reproach.

Lower angle photographs show you the upper cooling fans from a better angle and, in addition, the twin fan design of the graphics card.

Thoughts!

Overall, in terms of design aesthetics, the AWD Abyss looks great from any angle. Even when it’s switched off or not at its full lighting potential, the sleek black design really stands out.

So, from a design aspect, the AWD Abyss really hits it out of the park. Now it’s time to check out how well this performs under the scrutiny of our testing.
