The AWD Abyss RGB Gaming PC retails for a price in the region of £775. This, of course, is subject to change based on any upgrades or downgrades you wish to apply to the overall system build. For an AMD Ryzen 2600 and Nvidia 1060 based system (of course, inside that fantastic Game Max chassis) this does represent some excellent value for money.
Having done a quick comparison based on the theory of putting this system together yourself, our best estimates still provided costs of around £792. In other words, buying this system not only reflects value in the parts included, but AWD-IT also put it together with their expertise and give you a 3-year warranty as well!
In terms of aesthetics, the AWD Abyss looks exceptionally good. This is, of course, in no small part thanks to that Game Max chassis with it’s amazing ‘infinity glass’ frontage. In terms of other areas though, with all the RGB lighting effects, this system looks remarkably good. It is a showpiece set-up, particularly with the side panel showing all the inner workings. As such, it is perhaps better on a desk rather than under one.
When you take into consideration the more than respectable performance as well, it’s hard to fault this design.
As we noted earlier this particular model of the AWD Abyss isn’t particularly super-high-spec. That being said, the processor and graphics card provided is still very respectable and that has clearly been confirmed in our testing results. In terms of comparative performance, the Ryzen and Nvidia work together really well to provide a good and consistent level of performance.
The strengths lie more in multi-tasking that outright brute performance. For someone who plans to use their PC for work and play though, this is a fantastic option.
With a current retail price of about £775.00, the AWD Abyss RGB is a very tempting prospect for anyone looking to get onto the gaming PC ladder. While the specifications are not mind-blowing, they are more than competent for any AAA game being released today. Especially so if you’re happy with the 1080p level of gaming (which there’s no reason why you shouldn’t be).
It does, of course, go without saying that the Game Max Abyss chassis is the crowning touch for this build in terms of aesthetics.
You would honestly struggle to do better for less money and if you are looking for an inexpensive (but impressive) access point to PC gaming, the AWD Abyss is certainly it!
