Awesome Unreal Engine 4 Zelda Tech Demo Is Now Available

Ready to take on the Darknut in Unreal Engine 4?

We’ve covered quite a few tech demos over the years, many of them involving Unreal Engine 4. Some of you might be wondering: why were they created in the first place? Apart from representing proof-of-concept, some of them were just really fun to play. One of the most recent examples is this Zelda tech demo that was created by a fan named Aklar_45. The demo is available for download, and it allows you to control Fierce Deity Link. The main enemy is Darknut, and there’s also an entire level available for exploration. Moreover, it looks like Aklar_45 wants to create a VR version of this tech demo. I’m definitely looking forward to that!

Is it close to a real Zelda PC game?

Not really. I mean, the demo looks great and all, but some of its mechanics need a bit of work. The hit reactions require a bit of polish, for example, but this is definitely not a deal breaker. Nintendo doesn’t have any plans to release a Zelda game on the PC anytime soon. This means that tech demos such as this is all we have in the meanwhile. Graphics-wise, the entire project looks gorgeous.

You can go ahead and download the tech demo yourself right here. Also, make sure to have a look at the following video, just in case you want to catch a glimpse of what to expect.
