Batman Arkham City on PC Gets Unofficial HD Texture Pack

Batman Arkham City came out in September 2012, which is over five years ago now. However, modder GPUnity has released a new HD texture pack updating the game to more modern 2017 standards. GPUnity is the same modder responsible for the NieR Automata and Batman Arkam Asylum re-texture project.

This not only improves the texture resolution, but also introduces new shaders and other improvements. This is perfect timing for those who took advantage of the recent Steam Halloween sale and got a 75% discount. Not that the game costs a lot regularly at €19.99, but a discount is a discount.

The update has been tested on the Game of the Year Edition and is only 235 MB in size. The Reshade presets will be following shortly. Follow this link to download the HD texture pack and for instructions on how to install. Make sure to read the instructions carefully. Since it is an unofficial update, there might be some bugs or workarounds necessary to make it work.

Batman Arkham City HD Enhancement Preview

Batman Arkham City System Requirements

  • OS: Windows XP, Vista, 7
  • Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo 2.4 GHz or AMD Athlon X2 4800+
  • Memory: 2GB RAM
  • Hard Disk Space: 17 GB free hard drive space
  • Video Card: ATI 3850HD 512 MB or NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT 512MB

The minimum requirements is lenient. However, to fully appreciate the HD texture update, users need a more modern GPU with DX11.
