Moving onto the AMD graphics cards and sadly the issue had presented itself with the R9 380 where it crashed consistently just as the benchmark was ending. This was evident in the Update release and the Re-release tests. Which leads us onto the next card in the range, the R9 390. The 1080p results seemed to have been impacted the most with over a 10% FPS gain since the original release. The 1440p and 4K tests provided similar results despite what version we tested.
The R9 390X had a rough start with Batman AK with a 1080p average FPS of just 46. Once the update was released, this was fixed and the newest version sees the card pushing 105FPS. The same could be said for 1440p and 4K with a huge bump in performance since the update.
Sadly the R9 Nano wasn’t available to us before we tested the update, so we do not have the original release performance figures. As you can see from the chart, the performance has changed minimally between the update and the re-release.
The R9 Fury X provided some great performance scores, even at the original release. However, WB still managed to squeeze a little more optimisation for the card here and added 15FPS at 1080p and 10FPS at 1440p. 4K performance was barely affected across the three versions.
Again, the R9 Nano wasn’t available for the original tests, so we do not have access to those results for the R9 Nano CF test. The performance is identical between the update and re-release versions showing that there was little to do to improve things since the update.
