Batman: Return to Arkham Delayed Indefinitely

The remastered versions of Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City – set to be released under the banner of Batman: Return to Arkham for Xbox One, PS4, and PC – has been delayed, with no revised release date announced, according to a statement by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment.

“After reviewing the progress of the project, the team at WB Games has decided to delay the release of Batman: Return to Arkham to give the team at Virtuous Games additional time to deliver a polished Batman Arkham game experience, Steve Grayson (no relation to Dick, presumably) from Warner Bros. Interactive posted on the official forum. “We do not have a release date yet and will be sure to communicate that once we are sure the game will be ready.   We know this is disappointing news, but we feel the extra time will allow the team to create the best gaming experience for our fans.”

“In order to keep conversations around this topic in one place, please keep any discussions regarding this news in this thread,” Grayson added. “All other posts regarding the release delay will be locked and directed to this post.”

It’s no surprise, really. Between the mess that was Batman: Arkham Knight – strangely absent from this collection – and negative reaction to the poor graphical conversion shown in the remaster (comparison video below), Warner Bros. Interactive are likely bracing themselves for another kicking. So long as this delay leads them to releasing a great product, they should take all the time they need.
