Battlefield 4 Open Beta Will Start October 1st On PC, Xbox 360 and PS3

EA recently revealed that the Battlefield 4 open beta will start on October 1st for the PC, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Meanwhile the game will go official on October 29th as previously expected.

“The highly-anticipated Battlefield 4 action starts with the Battlefield 4 Open Beta on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC slated for October 1, then the game lights up on October 29.” Stated Peter Moore COO of EA.

EA also confirmed that Battlefield 4 would become available on Next-Generation consoles on November 19th (North America) and November 21st (Europe) for Xbox One, while PlayStation 4 will see Battlefield 4 on November 12th in North America and November 29th in Europe.

EA also claim players can start learning maps, unlocking items and building up their stats on current generation consoles. They can then carry all this progress over to the next-generation console if you choose to get one of those. Sadly you will have to buy Battlefield 4 again for the next generation consoles, even if you bought it for current generation consoles, but EA is trying to ease the pain slightly by offering upgrade versions for $10.

“Playing early on the Xbox 360 or PS3 means you will be able to learn maps, unlock items, and build stats in Battlefield 4.  You can then seamlessly carry over a lot of cool content from the current gen game to a new Xbox One or PS4 version to get a jump on the competition….Offers from many of our retail partners will help you buy Battlefield 4 on the Xbox 360 or PS3, and then upgrade to an Xbox One or PS4 version for as little as $10.”
