be quiet! @ Computex 2023

be quiet! is one of the biggest names in the business for high-end PC cases, coolers and power supplies, and for good reason, as they’ve continued to deliver award-winning and class-leading products since… well, always. Their new Dark Base 901 looks set to continue that trend, offering room for all the latest and greatest high-end hardware, with a host of unique and innovative features on top.

A comprehensive front panel, offering up plenty of I/O, and even some touch controls for the fan and lighting systems, noticeable by the many sweaty finger prints on them after this weeks show.

A vast dust filter is located up on top, and gone are the exterior blocking panels for closing it off, now located inside for a much cleaner aesthetic. There’s even a huge 15W Qi charging pad near the front too, a nice upgrade from the old 5W one, but 30W would be even better.

What I do love is that the case supports up to an E-ATX motherboard, but that the internal mounting tray can be removed and inverted to suit your taste or needs. be quiet! assures me this is now also a significantly easier process than it was on their old models too. You could even take the tray out entirely and use it as a test bench if you really wanted to.

One little detail I love is this flip-down panel at the front, offering up a 5.25″ drive bay that you could use for an optical drive, card reader, hot-swap HDD bay and more.

The left and right panels are interchangeable, again to deal with the reversible motherboard mounting tray.

One really cool feature is that the front fans and RGB plug into a hub built into the front panel, so there’s no need to route further cables through the case.

There’s a connector here so that when you put the panel back in place, everything connects and is powered. This makes removing and maintaining the panel a lot easier.

Behind the motherboard tray, there’s a boatload of space for cables, and routing holes absolutely everywhere.

An included riser cable.

As well as the vertical mounting bracket, all be quiet! branded too! With such a huge and modular case, you can get up to 420mm radiators in here, enormous graphics cards, and much more. We can’t wait to see this hit the market in the next few months.
