A Closer Look – Exterior

The first thing we noticed about this chassis is the size, it’s pretty hefty, to say the least. It’s extra wide given its overall height and length, that’s not a bad thing, though, it just is what it is. On the side, you’ll notice a huge tempered glass side panel with a light tint, giving us a fantastic view of the interior and it’s going to look amazing with the LED lighting powered on later.

At the top, front and bottom edge of the glass panel, you’ll notice there’s quite a bit of ventilation, giving you a more indirect airflow to the chassis that should help reduce a lot of noise from the chassis too.

On the right side, a heavy duty black panel with a dual fan mount cover. This can be closed, partially opened, or fully removed.

The top panel is treated with a gorgeous black brushed aluminium finish. There’s a little bit of ventilation at the rear, again keeping the focus on indirect airflow so that fans aren’t directly on the openings, reducing any unwanted fan noise.

The front I/O is very well equipped, with a wireless charging pad on the top for your mobile devices, dual USB 3.0, dual USB 2.0, HD audio jacks, and all the usual power buttons and LEDs. what’s really nice is that all four USB ports have black fittings, helping keep them in theme with the design of the chassis.

On the front panel, another large slab of black brushed aluminium, giving it a premium look and feel. I love that the side panels curve around a little to the front, with a little bit of silver trim to highlight their edges, rather than it just being a big black rectangle, it’s clear some thought has gone into making it look sleek and professional.

Push the top left corner of the door to release the push-click button and you can open the door, behind which you’ll find a thick layer of sound dampening material.

Two quick release 5.25″ drive bay covers at the top.

An easily removable and washable dust filter for the front mounted cooling. You’ll find two 140mm Silent Wings 3 fans here too, which is definitely a welcome bonus, as these are some of the best fans on the market today.

Pull it out from the front panel and you’ll find it’s another easily removable and washable filter, but wait there is more!

…A lot more actually, this filter covers the entire length of the chassis and all base mounted air intakes. It’s really nice that this is so easily removed from the front, as rear slide-out dust filters are a real pain sometimes.

Around the back, you’ll find a 120/140 mount, with a pre-installed 140mm SilentWings 3 fan, eight ventilated expansion slots and the PSU mount.

The PSU actually mounts on the chassis interior, giving the rear of the chassis a cleaner look by using a pass-through cable.

The base of the chassis is nice and clean-looking too, with four angular feet giving the wide chassis the stable base it deserves, and even more so thanks to the durable rubber grips on the base of each.
