Be Quiet! Dark Rock 2 CPU Cooler Review

The dark nickel finish with the matte black fan really is a timeless aesthetic – its one of the reasons many people adore Be Quiet! products.
6 heat pipes make up the main cooling capabilities of this product. If you’ve ever seen a Dark Rock Advanced you’ll notice the striking similarities here – but hey “if it ain’t broke then don’t fix it”… right?
The rear side is relatively plain. If you acquire an extra set of fan clips then you could mount another fan but that just adds unnecessary cost and 99% of people won’t do it.
The top uses the trademark brushed matte black finish which looks so attractive especially when you’ve got a side panel. All the 6 heat pipes are capped at both ends with black glossy plastic for a nice contrast between the matte finish.
Even though this cooler is a lot cheaper than the Dark Rock Pro 2, it still gets generously endowed with 6 heat pipes and a beautifully finished nickel plated base. The fact everything is nickel plated means the copper (and the performance) won’t degrade over time.
