be quiet! has announced the launch of its brand new Pure Power 12 M, its second power supply series to receive full ATX 3.0 compatibility. Pure Power 12 M comes in five models with 550, 650, 750, 850 and 1000 watts. All models are certified 80 PLUS Gold, featuring high-class technology such as LLC topology and up to five PCIe connectors for both PCIe 5.0 GPUs and GPUs with PCIe 6+2 connectors. Additionally, Pure Power 12 M features fully modular cables for ease of installation.
This makes Pure Power 12 M a future-proof choice for all who strive for a PSU with high performance and yet very low noise for their current- or next-gen graphics card. Also, new to the product portfolio is DC2 and DC2 Pro thermal grease solutions. DC2 thermal grease is the choice for any cooling application that requires top heat transfer, while DC2 Pro is a liquid metal thermal paste that provides an extreme level of cooling performance for demanding systems.
The be quiet! Pure Power 12 M includes full support for the ATX 3.0 standard, which observes the power specifications defined by PCI Express 5.0. Compared to ATX 2.X, which supports high load peaks but does not define a maximum above the nominal power of the power supply, ATX 3.0 defines clear target values – specifically, the PCIe connection for the graphics card must allow load changes of up to three times the power consumption.
Pure Power 12 M is designed to handle these extreme transient loads with ease. ATX 3.0 power supplies with 450 watts or more also require a new 12VHPWR connector, which is able to deliver significantly more power. Additionally, all Pure Power 12 M models also offer up to four “traditional” PCIe 6+2 connectors for full graphics card compatibility. This makes the PSU extremely versatile and a perfect, future-proof choice for upcoming next-gen devices and current high-end systems alike.
80 PLUS Gold efficiency and exceptionally quiet operation
Thanks to LLC technology, the be quiet! Pure Power 12 M offers advanced stability and voltage regulation. All models are certified 80 PLUS Gold, with a high operating efficiency of up to 93.2%, and include a full suite of safety features. Two independent 12 V rails provide up to 1000 watts of continuous power.
The be quiet! Pure Power 12 M integrates an exceptionally silent 120 mm be quiet!-fan, which is temperature-controlled for the best balance between effective cooling and quietness. Airflow-optimized fan blades reduce turbulence, allowing for best-in-class quiet operation with excellent airflow. Pure Power 12 M includes fully modular cable management, to simplify component installation and reduce cable clutter in the chassis. With product conception, design, and quality control in Germany, all models receive a full 10-year manufacturer’s warranty.
DC2 and DC2 Pro: impressive thermal grease
be quiet!’s new DC2 thermal grease provides more cooling performance than thermal grease that comes stock with most CPU coolers. Thanks to high thermal conductivity, DC2 is the choice for applications that require top heat transfer between the CPU and the cooler. For those pushing the boundaries even further, be quiet! offers its first liquid metal thermal paste: DC2 Pro, which is designed for enthusiasts and professional users and can even be applied in the highest demanding PC systems, no matter if used for the CPU cooler or other purposes like optimizing the GPU cooling performance.
be quiet! has confirmed that the Pure Power 12 M will be hitting retailers on February 7th with consumers looking at the following manufacturer’s suggested prices:
In addition, the DC2 and DC2 Pro launch on the same day at an MSRP of $7.90 / €7.90 / £6.99 and $11.90 / €11.90 / £10.99 respectively.
