Installation

One of the key benefits of the be quiet! Light Wings fans are the ability to daisy chain their ARGB cables. It should be noted though that the 3-pack ‘kits’ come provided with a hub controller, if you are purchasing the fans individually, it’s nice to know that there are options available to help you optimise your management. Without such a daisy chain system, purchasing more than one of these without the hub controller would definitely be a cabling nightmare!

Functionality & Performance

So, we’ve kept you waiting long enough, what’s the ARGB lighting like? Well, the short version is that while be quiet! took their time in launching an ARGB dedicated product, it was certainly worth it. The effects on offer here are amazingly bright and vibrant with a huge range of different options to choose from. – Put simply, these are some amazing-looking fans and, with the varying light displays on offer, have something for everyone here!

So, they certainly look good, but how well do they perform? Well, with the official figures stated on the packaging, our testing provided the following results:

Light Wings 120mm PWM

Airflow Performance

  • Rated Airflow – 41.51 CFM
  • Recorded Airflow – 40.89 CFM

Fan Speed

  • Maximum Rated -1,700 RPM
  • Maximum Recorded – 1,711 RPM

Acoustic Output

  • Maximum Stated – 20.6 dBA
  • Maximum Recorded – 20.9 dBA (adjusted to account for ambient noise)

Light Wings 120mm PWM High Speed

Airflow Performance

  • Rated Airflow – 52.3 CFM
  • Recorded Airflow – 51.8 CFM

Fan Speed

  • Maximum Rated -2,500 RPM
  • Maximum Recorded – 2,419 RPM

Acoustic Output

  • Maximum Stated – 31 dBA
  • Maximum Recorded – 30.7 dBA (adjusted to account for ambient noise)

Light Wings 140mm PWM

Airflow Performance

  • Rated Airflow – 56 CFM
  • Recorded Airflow – 54.1 CFM

Fan Speed

  • Maximum Rated -1,500 RPM
  • Maximum Recorded – 1,478 RPM

Acoustic Output

  • Maximum Stated – 23.3 dBA
  • Maximum Recorded – 22.9 dBA (adjusted to account for ambient noise)

So, taking all the results as a whole, we can confirm that they are entirely accurate, and more so, that these new fans don’t only look fantastic, but they perform every bit as well too!

Fans In Action

As often is the case with any ARGB product we review, while we can tell you how good it looks, or even take pictures, it never seems to quite do it justice without an actual video of them in some real-world action. So, with that in mind, do you want to see for yourself? Then click on the video below!
