be quiet! Pure Base 500 Case Review

Interior
With the tempered glass removed, you can see pretty much the same as with the glass on. The glass was so clear, it didn’t really hide much. There’s loads of room in here though, since all the HDD bays are under the shroud or tucked behind the motherboard.
PSU Shroud
The shroud looks gorgeous. You’ll notice it has that same triangular airflow package, just like the vents on the top of the case. There are three cut-outs towards the back, making it easier to route your motherboard cables. There’s a huge cut-out at the front too, which will open up if you remove the bottom HDD bays. Why? So you can install super thick front radiators, obviously.
In the front, you’ll find 120mm and 140mm fittings for fans and radiators. As standard, you do get a single 140mm be quiet! fan, which is more than enough airflow for most mid-range builds. Plus, it’ll be whisper quiet.
That fan matched the one in the rear, giving is air in and air out, right out of the box. Of course, you can add your own fans, radiators, etc, as you see fit.
Behind the Motherboard
The rear side panel features a thick coating of noise dampening material. This should keep buzzes and rattles to an absolute minimum.
Behind it, you’ll find be quiet! stashed the magnetic dust cover for the top panel. Of course, remove this if you’re not using it, it doesn’t like here once you built your rig.
There’s a good amount of space back here too. Cable routing should not be an issue. However, if you’re tight on space, the PSU shroud will hold any excess cables easily enough.
Storage
There are a few HDD/SSD mounts tucked back here towards the front too. One at the top…
…and another right below. it.
If that’s not enough, you’ll find two more SSD mounts right behind the motherboard.
Finally, two 3.5″ bays in the base. These are removable though, should you need the space for radiators, pumps, or a freaking massive PSU if you desire it.
