be quiet! Pure Base 500 FX Case Review

Complete System

Building a system inside the be quiet! 500 FX was pretty straightforward and somewhat familiar since it’s based on a case I’ve already had the pleasure of working with, the 500 DX!

It does look fantastic though, and the FX version with all of its ARGB thrills really looks stunning. Sure, it may be “be quiet!” but it looks a lot louder!

Cable management, as I predicted, is absolutely stunning. The cable runs are incredibly short and tidy, wit the routing holes all angled and cut to make the job much easier.

Cooling support is excellent, with loads of room for our CPU cooler, and plenty of airflow around it on all sides.

Of course, with all those fans in the front, there’s a lot of air coming into the case. The mesh design of the front panel makes airflow easy and the fans don’t have to work hard at all to keep things cool.

While the 1080 Ti is a bit old now, it’s clear there’s room for something much larger here, so the biggest RTX cards should fit easily enough. Well, unless you have a thick radiator in the front of the case, of course.

The fans look amazing though, and as you can see, their default colour is the classic be quiet! orange.

However, as you can see, just tap that button and you can cycle through a range of gorgeous effects and colours. I quite like this purple.

However, the way the colours all blend and mix on their RGB modes does look stunning too! What do you think, do you prefer your be quiet! products without RGB or is the FX a step in the right direction?
