The be quiet! Pure Loop 2 FX certainly proved itself to be a highly-competent cooler in both our stock and overclocked testing. Admittedly though, some of you may be surprised to see that the results provided were not a little bit better.
Well, in that regard, we think we have an answer to that.
While the temperature results are excellent, the real key trade in them being notably better is undoubtedly seen in the fact that despite having three fans, the Pure Loop 2 FX is exceptionally quiet! – I would go as far as to say that under our testing methodology (utilising standard default PWM settings in the BIOS) it doesn’t really show the best the be quiet! Pure Loop 2 FX has to offer.
If I was to personally use this AIO liquid cooler, one of the first things I would do is to go into the BIOS and slightly raise the PWM fan settings. While it would still be amazingly quiet, I’m pretty certain the CPU temperature figures provided would drop easily by 2-3C (and possibly more!).
This really is an excellent CPU cooler. I do, however, suspect that the default PWM fan settings don’t necessarily get the best overall balance out of it! – Again though, I should stress that the results provided still remain very impressive for a product that will always clearly lend itself (as per the brand name) towards low-noise taking a moderate priority over extreme performance.
