be quiet! Pure Power 11 FM (650W) Power Supply Review

Efficiency
Given that efficiency is one of the biggest selling points that be quiet! makes about the Pure Power 11 FM, we thought it best to start by taking a look at this specific area of our testing and, quite frankly, see if our results could back up those claims.
So, could they? Well, the answer is a resounding yes! – Never dropping below 90%, regardless of the load output, the Pure Power 11 FM isn’t just 100% definitely ‘Gold Rated’, but it also treds very heavily into ‘Platinum’ territory. At 80% load, this power supply achieved 94.4% efficiency which, quite frankly, is amazingly high for a PSU in the ‘Gold’ tier.
So, is it efficient? You’re damn right it is!
PFC (Power Factor Correction)
Although starting off a little low at 20% load, which incidentally is entirely normal for the vast majority of power supplies, the harder you ask the Pure Power 11 FM to work, the happier the PFC gets. And ‘happy’ is perhaps an understatement. With it easily maintaining a score of around 0.97 at 40%-100%, I think ‘delighted’ might be more accurate!
Voltage Regulation
Regardless of what load output we tested, the Pure Power 11 FM provided amazing tight and consistent results which is exactly what you want to see in voltage regulation. An undoubted highlight, however, is the 5V and 3V rails which consistently provided very little deviancy, and, in regards to the latter, the results were absolutely perfect!
Admittedly, the -12V rail did undervolt a little. Given that this is no longer a particularly significant requirement/aspect of modern PC designs, however, while there is certainly some deviancy here, it’s nothing to be alarmed or concerned about because, quite frankly, it’s not really that important any more.
