Over Power Protection and Max Wattage

Although power supplies always come with a rated wattage output, it is certainly not unusual for their to be a fair amount of wiggle room above that. When things are pushed too far, however, it’s important to know that the protections are in place to stop any potential damage to system components. So, with that in mind, how did the be quiet! Pure Power 11 FM do? – Well, despite this sample only being rated to 650 watts, we were able to push it all the way up to 821 before the OPP successfully kicked in.

Given that this is over 20% above the rated amount, although you should always buy a power supply entirely suited to your systems demands, there is a solid amount of overhead available here for sure!
