be quiet! Pure Power 11 FM 850W Power Supply Review

Efficiency
Coming as an 80 Plus Gold power supply, the be quiet! Pure Power 11 FM certainly sets the bar fairly high in terms of its efficiency performance. Following our testing, however, the results were significantly more encouraging than this certification would suggest. – This power supply easily meets the ‘Gold’ requirements, and in many instances, very nearly graduates into the higher tier of ‘Platinum’.
Admittedly, we didn’t quite hit the 93.9% be quiet! stated in their promotional material. With it achieving 93.5% in our testing, however, it’s pretty damn close and certainly enough to suggest that, in absolutely optimal circumstances, be quiet’s figure could be achieved.
Any way you look at this though, this is about as high (and as good) as an 80-Plus Gold power supply can get!
PFC (Power Factor Correction)
Although starting off quite low at 20% load (which, incidentally, isn’t uncommon or unusual for the vast majority of power supply designs), the Pure Power 11 FM PFC score quickly ramps up the harder you ask it to work. Finishing off with scores above 0.95 at 80% and 100% load, while there’s nothing overly impressive going on here, the PFC results are exactly what we would expect from a quality PSU design.
Voltage Regulation
The be quiet! Pure Power 11 FM was exceptionally consistent during our voltage regulation test. Admittedly, the 12V rail generally tended to slightly over-volt whereas both the 5V and 3.3V undervolted slightly. Taking this as a whole, however, and as you can see in the results below, the overall average deviancy was exceptionally low which is, in simple terms, exactly what you want to see.
