A Closer Look – Interior
Be Quiet’s Pure Power L8 CM is based on an HEC/Compucase OEM design, not the typical FSP design Be Quiet usually opt for. This is mainly because Be Quiet were looking for a more cost effective solution with the Pure Power series.
The unit uses one of Be Quiet’s custom Silent Wings fans that is capable of up to 2000RPM.
The rear AC line filtering is done on a separate PCB. It has one X cap and two Y caps.
Moving along to the right we can see the some of the bridge rectifying components with dedicated heatsinks.
Regulation of the rails is a shared procedure and there is no costly DC to DC converter design but instead shared regulation for the 12v & 5v and independent regulation for the 3.3V.
Capacitors are provided by Nippon chemi-Con capacitors.
The main hold up capacitor is a Teapo 400V, 470μF, 85°C part.
Direct contact aluminium heatsinks are used to dissipate heat from the regulation coils and ICs.
