The top of the Be Quiet! Shadow Rock TopFlow (SR1) is dominated by the large 135mm Silent Wings PWM fan. The heatsink has an interesting design, it is grooved and slightly angled too, probably a design trait that helps with airflow and surface contact I expect. The provided fan clips aren’t rubber but they didn’t vibrate at all for me so most people should be okay for escaping the dreaded fan vibration noise.
The height of the cooler is 126mm with the fan included. That’s approximately 34mm smaller than a standard tower heatsink. As you can see a lot of the height is added by the fan which is very thick. There is also a surprising amount of room underneath the heatsink for tall RAM too – but that all depends on which way round you mount it as well.
The Be Quiet logo/emblem is present at the end of the heatsink on the side opposite to where the heatpipes curve. So this will either face your RAM area or the back of your case depending on how you choose to mount it.
As usual Be Quiet! equip the beautifully smooth nickel plated base and nickel plate their copper heat pipes which means no degradation of performance over time from oxidation.
