In terms of keeping your processor nice and cool, which is clearly the most important task, the be quiet! Silent Loop 2 (240mm) is one of the best samples we have ever encountered. As you can see in the charts below, whether at stock or overclocked, the CPU temperatures are amazingly low. In fact, they’re some of the lowest we’ve ever seen! – And while on the subject of overclocking, we can wholeheartedly confirm that this would definitely be not just a viable, but based on our results, an entirely acceptable cooling solution. Well, presuming that you don’t push things ridiculously far!
The only possible slight clink in the armor is that to get this kind of performance, there has clearly been some compromise in terms of noise output. Put simply, the acoustic results were not as low as we might have expected from a be quiet! product. That being said though, given those insanely low CPU temperature scores, we are more than certain that a little tweak with the PWM fan settings in the BIOS will easily result in an absolutely perfect balance of low noise and low temperatures! – Whether you do this or not though, it’s still hard to deny that taking all the results into account, the be quiet! Silent Loop 2 (240mm) is absolutely fantastic at its job!
