The be quiet! Straight Power 11 750w power supply costs in the region of £115. In terms of Platinum rated power supplies, particularly those that perform as well as this one did, that figure represents some truly excellent value!
With the high-efficiency level as well, over the course of time, this will save you a not insubstantial amount of money on the electric bill too!
The performance of this power supply is, honestly, practically faultless. There were literally no areas of concern in our testing and, if anything, the results were massively better than they (for a product of this type) had any right to be.
A quick look at the efficiency charts, however, should leave you in no doubt as to what an excellent power supply the be quiet! Straight Power 11 is!
Be it in a flat or upright position, this power supply should both look and perform fantastically in practically any type of system set up. Admittedly, there are aspects of the design that are a little awkward. For example, I found both inserting and particularly removing the cables difficult (largely due to the cramped space between the ports).
That is, however, rarely a problem when you know what you’re doing and particularly in a completed system build and, as such, with its whisper-quiet performance levels, it’s again hard to make any solid criticism of this power supply.
It can often be a difficult argument to sway the average consumer that a power supply is something that genuinely gets better (generally speaking) as you spend more money on better quality designs.
With the be quiet! Straight Power 11, however, we have a surprisingly decent compromise. Not only does it perform well past your expectations, but it also comes at a price for which many of its competitors charge for their ‘Gold’ models. An efficiency rating a tier below this, just in case you didn’t know.
I honestly view this power supply as more of a powerhouse. It is exceptionally well-designed and still carries a more than pleasing aesthetic. Would I use this power supply in my system? – You’re damn right I would!
