BeamNG.Drive v0.29 Update Introduces a “Soccer Mom” Minivan

The latest update for BeamNG.Drive, the vehicle simulation and soft-body physics game has been released bringing in two new vehicles and much more.

BeamNG.Drive v0.29

BeamNG is probably one of the best soft-body physics simulations in any racing game and honestly, the entire driving experience is in the top rung of games. The latest update for the game has further expanded upon what started as a crash simulator into a fully-fledged driving and racing game with the introduction of a new vehicle, new vehicle configurations and over 20 new challenges.

Soliad Lansdale

First off is the new Soliad Lansdale, more commonly referred to in the US as a “Soccer Mom” van. The Lansdale is capable of being equipped with AWD, I4, V6 and V8 engines plus supports several bodywork options. A key and very important detail of this vehicle is the functional sliding doors for easy drop-offs on the school run. Additionally, this vehicle is included in the new suite of Gambler 500 configurations.

Gambler 500

Gambler 500 is a group based in Oregon that embraces having cheap fun in the outdoors often involving offroad vehicles. With this update, BeamNG has collaborated with the group to introduce a variety of new vehicle configurations inspired by this group with a variety of wacky and unique configurations embracing the nature of the Gambler 500 experience. The update includes configurations for the following vehicles;

  • Ibishu Pigeon – Poogeon
  • Civetta Bolide – Iron Owl
  • Autobello Piccolina – La Brutta Anatra
  • Ibishu Covet – The Unstable
  • Ibishu Covet – The Incapable
  • Gavril Grand Marshal – Grand Scavenger
  • Soliad Wendover – Croco
  • Soliad Lansdale – Landslide

New Missions

Alongside Gambler 500 is the introduction of new inspired events into the several maps in the game. The new mission type will embark you on a journey to tidy up various landscapes within the game. Each mission puts you in a different vehicle and puts you against the clock to collect as much trash as you can.

BeamNG

BeamNG is one of those games which you can enjoy without thinking too much about it. There are so many little things you can do making it great for both those who love tuning and tinkering with cars and those that just love driving them. I’ve had the game since it was in Alpha back in 2015 but only recently started properly playing it after a friend of mine reminded me that I owned it.

BeamNG is available on Steam now for £15.59 at a 20% discount in the Steam Summer Sale.
