BenQ Introduces PD2500Q Designer Monitor
Ron Perillo / 8 years ago
BenQ is introducing the PD2500Q designer monitor made for professional work. It is calibrated by factory engineers to produce 100% sRGB and Rec. 709 colour precision out of the box. The BenQ PD2500Q is the first in the PD series to receive pre-calibration. The company has also announced that it will factory-calibrate all PD series monitors going forward.
BenQ PD2500Q Designer Modes
The BenQ PD2500Q has a 25-inch LED IPS panel with a maximum resolution of 2560 x 1440. The PD2500Q is Technicolor colour certified in addition to being calibrated for BT.709 accuracy. This makes it perfect for video production, unlike most professional displays. This monitor is also ideal for professional photo editing work with its 100% sRGB colour reproduction. It offers several preset modes depending on the professional use:
- CAD/CAM Mode – Ideal for Pro/E, SOLIDWORKS, AutoCAD, CATIA, or other design software.
- Animation Mode – Ideal for doing intricate detail work in dark images without overexposure.
- Darkroom Mode – Ideal contrast for darkened post-process environments.
The monitor can also be pivoted 90 degrees and has tilt-adjustment aside from the various preset modes available. The thin bezel on the display also makes it suitable for multi-monitor environments.
Rear Connector Options
The BenQ PD2500Q designer display has an HDMI port, a DisplayPort and a mini-DP port for display output in the rear. There is also a 3.5mm jack for by-passing the built-in speakers. Four USB 3.0 Type-A ports with one USB Type-B port is also available for storage or charging.
