BenQ PD2506Q 25-inch 1440p Monitor Revealed

BenQ has just unveiled its latest monitor, the PD2506Q, and while monitor names offer less inspiration than a bucket of wallpaper paste, it does actually sound like a pretty decent monitor. It features a 25″ panel, which isn’t a particularly common size, I have to say. It’s a WQHD panel, which is a 2560 x 1440 resolution, so it has a good pixel density for its size. Furthermore, it features IPS technology, so it’ll deliver wide viewing angles, as well as a wider colour gamut. BenQ claims it can deliver 100% sRGB/Rec.709 coverage and 95% Display P3/DCI-P3 coverage, making it well suited to content creation and media consumption.

BenQ PD2506Q

The 100% sRGB/Rec.709 and 95% Display P3/DCI-P3 are certainly welcome, and it’ll make colours really pop, but retain their accuracy too. The panel can deliver DisplayHDR400 and HDR10. However, interestingly it comes with BenQ’s patented brightness unevenness correcting technology. However, I’ve not seen that technology in action myself, but it sounds interesting. There are additional CAD/CAM, a design (animation) mode for brightening dark regions, and a dark room mode too.

The panel can deliver a brightness of 350cd, a contrast ratio of 1,000:1, and has a 5ms response time. It features a refresh rate 60Hz too, so while it’s not designed as a gaming monitor, it’ll certainly get the job done. Mainly, its technologies focus on colour reproduction though. Furthermore, you’ll find DisplayPort 1.4 (daisy chain compatible with MST) x 1, USB Type-A (65W power supply / DisplayPort Alt Mode compatible) x 1, USB Type-B x 1, USB 3.2 x 3, 1 set With a KVM switch function. The stand has a tilt range of -5 to 20 degrees, and a swivel range of -15 to 15 degrees, with up to 90 degrees of pivot.

Price and Availability

There’s no word on the price., unfortunately, but we’ll update you as soon as we know more.
