Zowie is the professional Esports equipment brand of BenQ who have today revealed their new U2 Wireless esports mouse with an all-new shape developed through cutting edge science research to meet the demands of competitive gamers.
The Zowie U2 in terms of design is very simplistic, it uses a left-side curved design with an overall curve of the back to reduce the thumb angle and support a faster index finger click speed. Opposingly the right side curve facilitates easy placement of the ring finger to promote balanced force exertion on both sides of the hand for improved stability. The two side buttons have also been positioned in the ideal place for easier thumb access.
Zowie argues that the design of their mouse allows for a smaller thumb angle leading to a faster click speed as shown in the graph and images below, however I don’t see how this shape makes much of a difference as you can just use a smaller thumb angle on “others”.
The mouse weighs 60g making it ideal for quick movements and of course it’s wireless capabilities aids in that by reducing any drag from the cable. The included battery is rated for 70 hours of use and can be charged using USB-C or the included directional enhanced receiver which acts as a charging dock and enhances the wireless connection with a more direct front facing signal. The mouse makes use of the proven 3395 sensor which allows for a DPI of up to 3200 and a report rate up to 1000 Hz.
Zowie hasn’t shared pricing nor availability, however more information can be found at zowie.benq.eu
