BenQ Will Launch Its XL2730Z 27-Inch AMD FreeSync Monitor Next Week

BenQ’s 27-inch XL2730Z gaming monitor is set to be launched globally on April 30, and aside from including conventional gaming-related highlights, it also boasts AMD FreeSync support. FreeSync is an adaptive sync technology that was developed initially by AMD as a response to Nvidia’s G-Sync tech. This monitor was designed with gaming in mind, which is why it comes with an impressive WQHD (2560 x 1440 pixels) native resolution complemented by a response time of 1 ms and a refresh rate of 144 Hz. Also worth mentioning are its 170°/160° (H/V) viewing angles, 350 cd/m² maximum brightness and contrast ratio of 120,000:1.

The new BenQ offering features a USB 3.0 hub, a headset stand and a physical control pad. In order to make use of AMD’s FreeSync technology, you’re going to need a graphics card that features DisplayPort 1.2a or higher. At the time of writing, only a few AMD Radeon GPUs are equipped with DP 1.2a support, including the high-end R9 295X2 as well as the R9 290X, R9 290 and R9 285. The BenQ XL2730Z will cost $599, and it is shaping up as a very promising gaming monitor.

Would you swap your current monitor for this one? I know I would.
