The BenQ X12000 aims to deliver the best home cinema experience able to produce the DCI-P3 color space accurately via Philips ColorSpark HLD LEDs with CinematicColor Technology. The DCI-P3 color gamut defined by the digital film industry encompasses a significantly larger portion of the visible color spectrum compared to typical sRGB or Rec. 709. This is the same color standard used in all IMAX auditoriums worldwide, but is now available for the home market. This significant color depth, coupled with 8.3 million distinct pixels meeting the Consumer Technology Association’s 4K UHD specification, make the BenQ X12000 the pinnacle of home DLP projector technology.
This projector was initially announced in early February 2016, but is finally going to be available starting Q1 2017 worldwide and is expected to make an appearance at CES 2017. It will come with a remote control and onboard knobs on top of the projector itself can be used to adjust the picture.
