The SteelSeries Prime Mini Wireless is a truly awesome mouse, and while it’s one of the most expensive on this list, it’s certainly one of the best equipped too. It features an ultralight design meaning it weighs just 73 grams, not the lightest on my list, but keep in mind, it’s still very light and especially so for a wireless mouse too. It features the stunning TrueMovie Air Optical Sensor, which is good for up to 18,000 DPI tracking. However, there are two very impressive features on this mouse, one is the wireless tech. With Quantum 2.0 dual-channel Wireless technology promises lag-free performance and over 100 hours between charges. However, it can run in wired mode should you need to. Then there’s the Prestige Optical Magnetic Switches. They were an industry first when they launched and are pretty rare still as they’re a more expensive component to implement. But they have a unique feel and extremely long life span that will appeal to the frantic clickers in eSports and competitive gaming.
The Prime Mini Wireless is the only wireless mouse on this list, as I felt I should include at least one. However, not just any wireless, as this is a pretty high-end gaming mouse from SteelSeries, even if it looks somewhat humble.
It features their flagship Optical Magnetic Switches, which have what SteelSeries call their “crispy clicks” and I totally agree too, the click just feels… great! Its sound is pleasant too, which I really like. The LMB and RMB are mounted directly on the switch with their own sprung top panels, so both feel very tight and responsive, which is always important for competitive gaming.
The mouse is the mini version of one of their most popular models of the same name. It’s not drastically smaller, but it does make a difference. It feels lighter, more nimble and agile
The mouse is designed for a more fingertip or claw grip play style, allowing for quick and very small movements to be made with exceptional accuracy.
The mouse is ever so slightly nose-heavy at the main gripping point, but it’s very light and easy to hold anyway, so even if you do use a lift-off method, it’s unlikely to fall away from your grip.
It fits in your hand like a smooth pebble. It’s exceptionally comfortable and super easy to control. This is very much tuned for extremely competitive gameplay, such as MOBA/FPS.
I should point out that the mouse can be used wired too, but with 100 hours of wireless performance and absolutely no issues with latency, it’s perfect to use wirelessly.
It charges fast though, and the cable has a soft premium and lightweight sleeving, so even when it is in use, it’s hardly a distraction.
