HyperX Haste

HyperX PulseFire Haste Gaming Mouse Review

The next mouse we have is another lightweight, with the peripherals folks at HyperX flexing a mouse that’s just 59 grams. It’s so light, a breeze may move this one across your desk! It’s pretty well equipped though, with a HyperFlex cable, and a Pixart 3335 sensor that can track at up to 16,000 DPI. However, what really stands out are the TTC Golden Micro Dustproof Switches and “virgin-grade” PTFE skates, which should give this mouse a nice edge when it comes to competitive gaming!

Features

  • Ultra-light hex shell design
  • HyperFlex USB Cable
  • TTC Golden micro dustproof switches
  • Pure virgin-grade PTFE Skates
  • Grip tape included
  • Customizable with HyperX NGENUITY Software
  • Pixart 3335 Sensor
  • Responsive split-button design
  • NVIDIA Reflex compatible

The HyperX Haste is one of the most straightforward no-fuss gaming mice here. It’s fast, it’s light, and it’s well made and it’s pretty affordable too. For starters, it looks fantastic, with individual panels for the LMB/RMB, and despite the obvious weight shedding, it’s extremely robust and durable, despite the fact it only weighs 59 grams! That’s right, 59 grams, you can blow on this mouse and move it around your desk.

The honeycomb design retains the strength of the mouse but obviously cuts out a low of materials to save so much weight. Plus, as an added bonus, it allows a little airflow around your palm and that can really help prevent sweaty palms while your gaming gets more intense.

Like most of these stripped-down mice, the interior is protected against moisture so don’t worry too much about things being exposed. Plus it features TTC Golden micro dustproof switches so if any particles get in there, they won’t cause a problem. That being said, just pick the mouse up, blow into it, and it’ll clear out any crisp crumbs you may have dropped in there; you don’t want your 59g mouse weighing 60g do you?

The switches on this mouse feel superb. Because they each have their own individually sprung top surfaces, and the switches are mounted directly against them, they feel super snappy and responsive. Plus those TTC switches have a really great click to them, and it still surprises me how cheap this mouse is considering what you get.

On the underside, there’s more weight saving, as well as four “virgin PTFE” pads provide an effortless glide. To be honest, the mouse is so light, it’d glide without them, ha!

The mouse suits a full palm grip just fine, and those long mouse buttons can be actuated all the way from the back. Actually, the closer to the back, the more pronounced the click feels, while at the tip of the mouse, they’re very light. Either way, the setup will benefit fingertip grips with ease.

The balance and grip point are very good too. It tilts forwards slightly only because of the lightweight cable on the nose. Plus, at 59g, it takes just a feather-like grip to lift the mouse off your desk.

The shape of the mouse is fairly traditional though, and it’s a bigger design too, so it fits the full palm and length of my fingers very naturally. However, the ergonomics and weight would make it feel right at home in smaller hands too.
