While the announcement of Fallout VR was hardly a surprise, the introduction of DOOM VFR at E3 came as a lovely surprise. Both Fallout and DOOM are beloved Bethesda titles in their own right but the hype surrounding Fallout VR has been bubbling for some time. The announcement of DOOM getting a VR mode however, hit like a freight train to the adoring crowd at E3. The ‘F’ in VFR obviously refers to the same ‘F’ word in BFG, so it definitely packs a punch. Unfortunately, there is not much in the way of information other than the E3 reveal trailer.
A little bit of digging around reveals that Amazon may have leaked the release date already, despite Bethesda not officially announcing it yet. A listing for the PlayStation 4 version of DOOM VFR puts the release date on December 29, 2017. The price tag for that PS4 version is set at $29.99.
Fallout 4 VR will hit stores earlier on October. Many are already gushing about wanting to experience the wasteland in VR even before the title was officially announced, so this is definitely going to be big. Even though it is essentially the same gameplay and story as the previously released Fallout 4.
