The fact that The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is getting a remaster for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 consoles is rather exciting, but we can actually look forward to even greater things from Bethesda in the future, as the famed publisher has recently revealed that it is working on two major projects that are reportedly as big as Fallout and The Elder Scrolls. Actually, Pete Hines has officially confirmed that Bethesda will release The Elder Scrolls VI at some point in the future, but we really shouldn’t expect this game to come out anytime soon.
“The studio has two major projects, two major games that they are planning on doing before they get to an Elder Scrolls 6.”
Apparently, the company wants to release these two titles first before unveiling the next installment in The Elder Scrolls series, which means that we’re still looking at quite a few years of waiting time. Bethesda Game Studios Game Director Todd Howard further clarified things during a live YouTube E3 stream.
“That’s kind of like the elephant in the room, always, when we talk about anything, and I think it’s good to tell our fans in these moments, yes, of course we are [making Elder Scrolls 6]. It’s something we love. But it is—I have to be careful what I say—it’s a very long way off. I could sit here and explain the game to you, and you would say, ‘That sounds like you don’t even have the technology—how long is that going to take?’ And so it’s something that’s going to take a lot of time, what we have in mind for that game.”
