Bethesda Working on Their Three Biggest Ever Games

Bethesda is one of the biggest names in the gaming business, and they’re well known for their sprawling free-roaming role-playing games. Most notable for Bethesda is their work on The Elder Scrolls and Fallout series, which continue to be massive hits for the company, especially with the recent release of Skyrim: Special Edition and Fallout 4.

So what’s in the pipeline at Bethesda HQ? While speaking with Glixel, Todd Howard revealed very little, unfortunately, but he gave us more than enough information to get a little excited for new big budget Bethesda games.

“We’ve got a good number of projects on the go,” said Todd Howard. “We’re bigger now and we do want to be putting out more stuff. We have two larger projects that are more classically the scale of what we do, but even bigger. We overlap the projects so we’re working on them at the same time, but they’re staggered,” he teased. “I can’t talk a lot about them, but I can say that they’re bigger than anything we’ve ever done. They’re a bit different, but definitely in the wheelhouse that people are used to from us.”

He said that they’re working on three large projects and that they’re bigger than anything they’ve done, although that last part can be interpreted in many ways; the number of staff, budget, the actual size of the game, all of the above?

They’re giving no hints about their mobile game either, but did say “It was a huge surprise to us. Particularly how successful it was. We’ve got – what – 75 million players now? The one takeaway was that the game is somewhat unique, so for the thing we’re doing next we wanted to continue to do that. We need to not look too hard at what’s working well for other people. The game we’re doing is a very different style game, unique in the space. There isn’t something else we’re looking at for style.”

If they’re working on two big games and a mobile game, and the two non-mobile games aren’t Elder Scrolls and Fallout, I would be extremely surprised.
