Bethesda ‘Yo Dawg’ Skyrim Patch with Patch

Skyrim: Special Edition has been with us a few weeks now, and Bethesda has been doing a pretty decent job of patching things up in a timely fashion too. While the PC version did launch with heavily compressed audio, something that I hated given I game from a DAC and headphones, Bethesda soon had that patched up and in-line with the high-end audio heard on the PS4 release.

Unfortunately, it looks like the last patch caused a few bonus problems, but Bethesda has already fired out another patch to address these.

“The update provides fixes addressing noted concerns.” said Bethesda

Patch 1.2 Release Notes

  • General stability and performance improvements
  • Fixed issue related to using alt-tab while playing the game (PC)
  • Fixed issue with water flow not rendering properly
  • Fixed crash related to changing from werewolf back to human form
  • Fixed crash related to reloading after changing Load Order of mods
  • General bug fixing and improvements with browsing Mods

These follow on from the previous patch, see below:

  • General performance and optimisation improvements.
  • Fixed rare issue with NPCs not appearing in proper locations.
  • Fixed issue with saves erroneously being marked as modded, even though no mods are active.
  • Updated some sound files to not use compression.

To update to the new 1.2 release, you will need to right-click the game in Steam and enable the beta downloads, unless you want to hold out and see if they need to patch this patch too, you never know!
