Bethesda’s Next Two Games Will be Bigger than Skyrim and Fallout 4

While Bethesda is still running hot after the developer revealed that it is remastering Skyrim for PC and current-gen consoles, studio head Todd Howard has been teasing details of the two new games it has in the works, revealing that the pair are set to be bigger than Skyrim.

“I could sit here and explain the game to you, and you would say, ‘That sounds like you don’t even have the techno– How long is that going to take?’” Howard told Geoff Keighley. “So, it is something that’s going to take a lot of time – what he have in mind for that game – and we actually have two other large projects we’re also doing that are bigger than everything we’ve done.”

Keighley asked Howard if the two mystery titles were being worked on simultaneously, to which Howard replied, “They kind of overlap. We’re expanding, but we’ve always kind of done that,” “They overlap, and we try things and if we like something we move more of the team onto it and say ‘okay this is going to be our next release.”

“You guys have obviously spent a lot of time in the Elder Scrolls world and the Fallout world,” Keighley followed up, “but do you think about other worlds you want to play in?”

“Yes,” Howard agreed. “I mean, I think that people shouldn’t necessarily look at what we’ve done and say we’re just going to alternate between Fallout and Elder Scrolls–they’re obviously universes we love. But there are things we want to try in gaming, whilst they’d still be very much a Bethesda Studios-style game, or something would expect from us, while being different.”

Howard recently confirmed that Bethesda has plans for a sixth Elder Scrolls game.
