Bethesda has confirmed that Starfield will receive more downloadable content (DLC) expansions after the release of Shattered Space. This news came to light during the recent Xbox Games Showcase 2024, where Bethesda showcased gameplay footage from the upcoming expansion.
Shattered Space
Shattered Space is expected to launch in late 2024. The DLC will feature a handcrafted map and focus on one city, much like Fallout 4’s Far Harbor DLC. This approach aims to eliminate the game’s procedurally-generated levels and reduce the number of loading screens, enhancing the overall gameplay experience.
Future Expansion Plans
In an interview with MrMattyPlays, Todd Howard, Bethesda’s game director, confirmed that the company plans to release at least one more DLC for Starfield next year. If possible, another DLC might follow the year after that. This strategy mirrors the approach taken with Fallout 4, suggesting a long-term commitment to supporting Starfield.
While this is exciting news for Starfield fans, those hoping for a new Fallout game will have to wait. Bethesda appears to be focusing on Starfield and The Elder Scrolls 6 before returning to the Fallout franchise. For now, Fallout 76 continues to receive updates and improvements.
Bethesda’s dedication to expanding Starfield indicates a promising future for the game, with fans eagerly anticipating the new content.
