Sometimes technology is used to benefit humanity, sometimes it is not, such as when developer Brian Kane hacked his Amazon Alexa to speak through his Big Mouth Bill Bass. To be honest, I’m sad that I didn’t think of this first, as those damn singing fish are one of the best and worst inventions ever.
In the video, you can see the fish using its animatronics to respond to the usual Alexa commands. I’m pretty sure this is a great way to freak some people out next time you have guests over, but the kids should love it at least. On the plus side, anything is better than watching the fish sing “Don’t Worry Be Happy” for the 20th time.
What’s the point of all this? It’s just another example of how Amazon Alexa is customisable, and that a lot of things can be done with the Alexa API. However, perhaps some mods are best left untouched.
