Bill Gates Predictions Point To 2035, The Year Where Poverty Will Cease To Exist

Bill Gates, founder of Microsoft, has always been known for his involvement in humanitarian aids as well. With his passion for technology as well as humanitarian activities he is involved in, he stated that the “revolution” will be one of the things which will help poor countries get over poverty. He also made some predictions on how this might have an impact in the future.

In his annual letter from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, he relates the progress that poorer countries have made in the past 50 years. He also predicted that “by 2035, there will be almost no poor countries left in the world”. His argument are based on the World Bank’s classification of low-income, which divides economies based on 2012 gross national income, and he predicts “almost all countries will be what we now call lower-middle income or richer.” Low-income groups, according to the World Bank, make $1,036 or less, and lower-middle income groups make from $1,036 to $4,085.

“Almost all countries will be what we now call lower-middle income or richer,” he stated. “Countries will learn from their most productive neighbors and benefit from innovations like new vaccines, better seeds, and the digital revolution.”
